Default Modify the way hunting blessings rank up

I've been clearing many areas.
Remeber the Hunt Blessings? Each one have 4 ranks.
As you know. When you kill some enemies and then go talk to a blessing giver in a shrine, they may either give you points or increase the rank. It seems that whether they give the points or the rank up is completely random...

So far, I've completely explored and cleared of creatures (animals included) more than 10 areas in the north regions, and I found that the way blessings increase just sucks. They seem to be meant to reduce the chances of getting points at all and punish those that bother wasting hours killing everything in one area.

Most of the time, after you kill a decent amount of enemies (50, 100, 150), the blessing giver will give you a useless point bonus that you don't want, since you want the rank up to get more points by killing.

After the weekend event, when I try killing everything in the area, and than talking to the NPCs, they give me the rank ups. Useless, since I have already killed everything.

And if I try to talk to them before killing everything (after 50 enemies, after 100, after 150, etc) most of the time they give me a bonus points I don't want. (20, 40, 60 points) and they wait until I have killed most of the enemies in the are to give me the rank ups.

I tried killing bosses first, killing bosses last, killing everything first, getting them ass soon as I get 25, 50, 75 points... nothing worked. Always the same. They give crappy bonuses first, useless rank ups last. Plain frustrating.

So I suggest to change the way rank ups happen, so they are ENSURED.

This could be done, for example:
- Automatically, when you hit 50, 100 and 150 kills (much like the random bonus that somtmes appear, but ensured). And making the blessing givers give point bonuses only.
- Always by talking to the blessing givers after 50, 75 and 100 kills, and making the givers refuse to give anything until you hit those figures. So if you don't have enough kills for the next rank, instead of giving you 20 points, they tell you to com back after more kills, and after those kills they give you the next rank.
- Etc...

Current system sucks. I think it should automatically upgrade you every 50 and the hunt-givers only give points, nothing else.

It IS sort of a frustrating system. I'd like to see it changed to something a bit more reliable, since getting Rank 2 when you only have two mobs left to go ain't very useful.

I got one of those Rage Of The... effects, you know, the one where you get double the points as long as you kill something every 45 seconds? Well, I'm bad with names, but you know what I mean. I got that immediately after clearing an area. Twice. I'd wipe up the last known mob on the map and bam, there's the effect with its countdown.

I find the GW:EN bounty system in dire need of an overhaul. I posted this elsewhere, but this thread is more relevant.

(1) It's infuriating that you initially only get 1 point per kill. Plus rank 2 rarely kicks in until 100 kills, meaning that you have to waste at least 30 minutes to get a decent bounty. Its absolutely maddening trying to get rank 2; like some of the other posters stated, you have to get lucky. I hate having to run back to shrines to get only 20 pts when I want a rank up. Instead I just save them for 100pts, and don't bother - but this means i have to run back to all the shrines which seems like a stupid way to play the game.

(2) Also, you need 200,000 for a title track that encompasses only 1/4 of the game. Sunspear / Lightbringer was 50,000, the bounties were 4-8 pts per kill, and the bounties could be undertaken throughout the entire nightfall campaign.

(3) Another grievance I have is that the rampage bonus in GW:EN only lasts 45 seconds. Considering the map sizes in GW:EN are enormous with enemies sparsely spread out, this feature seems extremely poorly thought through. Just give it a flat 5-10 min.

(4) I also hate how the bonuses every 25 kills are random. No one cares at all about health bonuses (Norn); they just want to get to the rank 4 bounty as quick as possible, and there should be a kill cap for those ranks, so you know exactly when you'll achieve those ranks. *SERIOUSLY*, gaining a rank up should occur at a consistent (I.E. not random ffs) number of kills - like rank 2 = 50 kills, rank 3 = 100, rank 4 = 200.

(5) There should be a more passive bounty for bosses, probably something like the sunspear / lightbringer bonus on hard mode (4 pts for every kill up to a limit of 100 pts). Rarely does that 5 min window pop up to get a bonus from bosses, even if you vanquish an entire zone. Also, I get so furious when the bonus for 375 kills is "kill 10 foes in 150 sec for a point boost." FFS, by that point all the enemies are either dead, or they're patrolling and difficult to find. The bonuses need to be designed to be relevant to the current situation.

(6) If the bonuses aren't going to be consistent, the shrines should at least give bonuses relevant to their location like in Nightfall (insect shrines generally near insects). If you're near a shrine close to a cluster of enemies, that shrine should predictably give a rampage or something. Close to a boss, give a boss bonus. Not this random, lazily designed system.

/signed with a giant crayon so it can't be missed.

Well... since the last update, my latter runs where a bit better... I got rank 4 clearing less than 75% in most cases (although I think it should be at 50%)...

I'll wait some days before starting to whine about this, maybe they changed the ways you get chances to rank ups, until that, I found something about the rank blessing system that is worse:

Dungeons. In most dungeons, you may get a rank up or two in each level, but almost never 3 or 4, unless you are lucky with the 25kill-power-ups.
On top of that, many dungeons have a final small area where the dungeon boss is.
So... inside dungeons, players should carry the blessings they achieved in previous areas, just like you carry the Siege Devourer or the Morale bost/penalty between charr areas.

I don't even bother with the Shrines. I take the first blessing.

At 25, I get a blessing like rampage (or something).
At 50, I get upgraded to Rank 2.
At 75, I get upgraded to Rank 3.
At 100, I get upgraded to Rank 4.
At 125+, I get rampage (or something)

After I'm done, I collect 100 rep from all the remaining shrines.

Always the same song for me. I'm not complaining. But it's odd that it's not the same for other players. :/

That's the point of the thread.

Luck should not be the main factor to get to max rank.

But that's not luck for me. That's how it always is. I think that's how it should be for everyone:
25, you get a random bonus.
At 50 all the way to 100, you get the three ranks boosters.
125 and up, you get random bonuses again.

If that is always for you only, that is luck, mate.

Tried many times. Even after the 4thSeptember update, I may get rank 2 after 100 kills.
